What is TACK?

A joint effort of the Atlanta Community Food Bank and Open Hand/Atlanta, The Atlanta Collaborative Kitchen (TACK) has served as a training program for low-income individuals seeking careers in the food service industry.

The decision has been made to temporarily suspend operation of TACK, and the project is under review in 2008.

We celebrate the amazing successes of TACK during our 10-year partnership with Open Hand. Since its inception in 1998, TACK has conducted 20 16-week training classes and graduated more than 250 students for careers in the culinary arts. It has been one of the most successful programs of its kind in the city.

Classes will be on hiatus while we examine the program, its progress and opportunities for the future. The direction of this program will be determined in the coming year as it has meant so much to so many people.
